Amongst The Relics and Butterflies by Lynne Moncrieff

00:00

I decided to limit myself to one stamp, the beautiful butterfly collage stamp from the PaperArtsy Hot Picks 1506, inking it up as a whole then inking it selectively to create interest and pattern on the background.

Supplies

Infusions:- Violet Storms, Blackcurrant, Royal Blood. Black Knight, Lemoncello
Stabilo Black Watersoluble Pencil

Instructions

Apply Black Knight and Violet Storms to panel, generously misting with water. Heat set then apply a wash of Gesso. Apply Grunge Paste through Dinky Stencil.

Stamp butterfly collage. While the ink is drying, diffuse the butterflies by misting with water. With fine detail watercolour brush and the white marker pen, add some details to the butterflies. Mist the whole panel with water and apply more Infusions, this time working with all the colours.

Take the time to enjoy this step, building up colour, pushing it back with water/Gesso and allowing the colours to drip into one another. Can you guess that I like Infusions!

Study the butterfly collage stamp, selecting areas to ink up and stamp onto the panel. Edge panel with black watersoluble pencil and Sharpie white paint marker pen. Create marks on panel with the watersoluble pencil.

Adhere a Relic and Artifact to a butterfly, applying Infusions to the R&A.

Finally, highlight any areas with the white marker paint pen or definite with the watersoluble pencil.

Until next time, when who knows, I might be playing with Infusions once again!
